In Ephesians 6:17 you are told to take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Just prior to this in verse 16 (ESV) you are told, “in all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which we can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one.” In other words, by faith declare the Word of God over circumstances and situations you may be struggling with and over those flaming darts of the evil one such as worry, fear or temptation and bring victory in your life. There are times that you simply are going to have to faith it even though you don’t feel it. Remember, the Bible defines faith as “the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 (ESV)
