“Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God inChrist Jesus.”  (NASB)

Phil. 3:13-14

Paul was a man of focus.  Great leadership is all about focus.  It was said, “Focused attention and energy is the most effective power source for your business.”  There are all kinds of ideas and thoughts on which you can spend your time and energy and be easily distracted instead of pressing on toward God.  Focus your thoughts on Him.  As it has been said, “If God is your co-pilot, swap seats.”  Learn to look steadily at Him in all your moments and all your circumstances.

“While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” (NASB) II Corinthians 4:18 and The Message Bible says, “So we’re not giving up.  How could we!  Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace.  These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us.  There’s far more here than meets the eye.  The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.”  II Cor. 4:16-18
