WHERE ARE YOU LOOKING TO GET HELP?

I look up to the mountains—

does my help come from there?

My help comes from the Lord,

who made heaven and earth!

Psalm 121:1-2 NLT

Why the eyes?  Eyes are symbolic of our focus.  Where do we look to get help?  Since He made heaven and earth surely He can help you in your difficulties.  As it says in verse 2, “My help comes from the Lord.” Perhaps you have been going through some stuff.  Perhaps you are stressed out and having a hard time sleeping.  Maybe you have been staying up half the night trying to figure things out.  Psalm 127:1-2 NASB says, “Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman keeps awake in vain.  It is vain for you to rise up early, to retire late, to eat the bread of painful labors; for He gives to His beloved even in his sleep.”

What a blessing He is, working on your behalf twenty-four seven.  He’s your helper.  He’s your builder.  He’s your provider.  He’s your protector.  He’s got your back.  He is your refuge and strength, your very present help in trouble.
