“Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a

word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment,

so that it will give grace to those who hear.”  (NASB)

Ephesians 4:29

Webster’s definition of communication is an act or instance of transmitting

information or interchange of thoughts or opinions.  Ephesians gives us three

important qualities to help us be more effective in our communication.

  1. Does your speech edify?  In other words, does it build up others?
  2. Is what you say necessary for the need of the moment?
  3. Do your words impart grace into the listener?

DECLARATION:  I will choose to be more careful of the words that I use to communicate,

being more mindful that they are positive, uplifting and filled with grace.
