“That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying,

our spirits are being renewed every day.”

II Corinthians 4:16 (NLT)

Discouragement can be one of the biggest challenges you face in life. Discouragement is defined as “a feeling of having lost hope or confidence.” Discouragement can often be a result of difficulties in your life. You need to rest assured that this too will pass. God allows you to go through challenges and situations in your life to help you to mature in your faith, but there are also times of refreshment and rest.  You need to remember that the Father is always with you, giving you support, protecting you in whatever you are going through. To overcome discouragement you need to look to Jesus.  It’s easy to get discouraged when you put your trust in people or just focus on your problems.  Instead, keep your life focused on Christ.  The One who said in John 14:27 (NASB), “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.  Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.” And John 16:33 (NASB) says, “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”
