There are many situations that arise in life where you can be tempted to compromise your values and convictions, perhaps to win a contract or get a job or win a promotion. And many times these temptations can be very subtle and even appealing. To keep from falling into this trap of compromise you are going to need courage and strength. Webster defines “courage” as “mental and moral strength to resist opposition, danger or peril.” Proverbs 16:8 NASB says, “Better is a little with righteousness than great income with injustice.” And Proverbs 16:7 NASB tells us, “When a man’s ways are pleasing to the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.” Courage is a matter of the will, not feelings. You make the determination that you choose to do the right thing even though your feelings may be telling you just the opposite. Heed what our Father says in Proverbs 16:2 NASB: “All the ways of a man are clean in his own sight, But the Lord weighs the motives.” Proverbs 16:8 NASB says, “Better is a little with righteousness than great income with injustice” and Proverbs 16:7 NASB says, “When a man’s ways are pleasing to the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.”
