When two-year-old Evan arrived at his Olive Crest home, he had bruises all over his body. They were a result of being struck by his biological father, who believed that “a child should be afraid of his father.” After hitting the child, his father made him stand alone for hours.

Today, Evan has a loving relationship with his foster parents, especially his foster father. When his foster father came home from work recently, Evan pointed to him and said, “This is my Poppy. He’s my best friend!”
