 Liberty Road Foundation along with John Dammarell, Executive Director, and Karilyn Dammarell, Executive Assistant, were presented with an Award of Gratitude at the Jubilee REACH Honors event at the Bellevue Arts Museum on May 22nd along with 5 other Jubilee REACH volunteers.  The award was for the “H” in REACH which stands for hospitality, defined by Jubilee REACH as “creating a safe space where everyone, especially the stranger, can enter, be welcomed and become engaged and accepted as a friend!”  Thank you to all of the LRF volunteers who made this happen!  LRF exists because of you!  John and Karilyn are pictured with Barry Horn, LRF Board President and Founder and Larry Snyder, a great auctioneer and friend of LRF....

John Dammarell

John L. Dammarell, PhD. serves as the foundation’s Executive Director. He previously served as the pastor of Valley View Christian Church in Kent, Washington from 1976 to 1992 and was the Director of Community Relations for City Ministries of The City Church in Kirkland, Washington from 1997 to 2007.  City Ministries was a food distribution ministry to the Greater Puget Sound area.  Dr. Dammarell holds a Bachelor of Theology from Northwest Christian College, his Master of Divinity from Phillips University, and his Ph.D. in Practical Ministries from California Graduate School of Theology.  In his role as Executive Director, and subject to authority delegated from time to time by the Board of Directors, Dr. Dammarell is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the foundation, including administration of its grant making activities.  Dr. Dammarell is author of the book, “Churches Without Walls.”  He and his wife, Karilyn, have 6 children and 18...

Karilyn Dammarell

Karilyn serves as the Executive Assistant to her husband, John Dammarell, Executive Director of Liberty Road Foundation.  She is responsible for the day to day operations of Liberty Road Foundation and serves as the Event Chair of its annual Charity Golf Tournament & Auction as well as all of its other events – Business Vision Lunches in Bellevue and Tacoma, “Spring for the Kids” Fashion Show Luncheon and the Founders Vision Banquet. Karilyn owned and operated Travel Bug, Inc. from 1975 to 1990.  Her first account was the Boeing Employees World Wide Club where she provided travel packages at discounted group rates to Boeing Employees and their friends at reduced prices even if only one person traveled. Karilyn has served on the boards of the Washington State Arthritis Foundation, the Boys and Girls Clubs of King County, and Seafair Inc.  Karilyn became the first official female President of a Rotary Club in the world in 1988 when she was a member of the Rotary Club of Seattle – International District. Rotary International was founded in 1905 as a club for men only.  Karilyn became the first female president in the 46-year history of Seattle Seafair in 1994.  At that time, Seafair was a non-profit organization with a $2 million budget whose mission is to provide summer family entertainment to the residents of Greater Seattle and its outlying areas.  ...

Deanna Powell

Deanna Powell serves Liberty Road Foundation through Business and Volunteer Development. Deanna will work with business leaders, community members and volunteers in King County (Central and North) to support the many opportunities to transform lives through Liberty Road Foundation and its non-profit partnerships. Deanna was born in a small town called Placerville in the foothills of Lake Tahoe in northern California. She moved to Kirkland/Bellevue when she was 10 years old and went to Bellevue Christian School from elementary until she graduated high school in 1994. Deanna began volunteering and donating her time and money to various charities from the time she was very young, building houses in the ghettos of Tijuana, Mexico, handing out sandwiches and blankets to the homeless of Seattle & Tacoma, volunteering at the Special Olympics, and raising money for charities that support domestic violence survivors, troubled youth, clean water in developing countries, animal shelters, wounded warriors, and drug & alcohol counseling. Deanna was also on one of the service teams that traveled to Batzchocola, Guatemala with Liberty Road Foundation and Agros International in 2007. In 2016, she traveled for 10 days through Addis Ababa and Lalibela, Ethiopia where she was able to minister and raise money for 7 different charities that support women and children there. Lonnetta Cunningham

Lonnetta Cunningham serves Liberty Road Foundation through Business and Volunteer Development. Lonnetta will work with business leaders, community members and volunteers in South King County and Pierce County to support the many opportunities to transform lives through Liberty Road Foundation and its non-profit partnerships. Lonnetta has served on the ministry team at Life Center Church in Tacoma since 2001, joined their leadership staff in 2007 and is currently their Director of Public Affairs. During that time she has developed volunteer opportunities, volunteer teams and programs for Life Center. In 2011, Lonnetta became the creator and Founding Director of KidCo Productions, a student-led bullying prevention and character building program that partners with 6 school districts and 35 schools. Lonnetta and her husband, Eddie, have owned and operated Carnival Time Rentals since 1996.  They are also the proud parents of 3 children....
