Take It To God

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” (NASB) Philippians 4:6   One of the best things you can do for the success of your dreams and goals, whether that is in business or in your personal life, is to pray for them.  Be specific and always pray your request with faith and expectation.   Ephesians 3 20–21 (NASB) tells us, “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen”.  God’s plan for you may very well far exceed your thoughts, your ideas.  We have a God of wildest imagination. He just might surprise...

5th Annual Business Vision Lunch Recap

Posted on May 19, 2014 in BUSINESS VISION LUNCH | 0 comments

Margaret Thatcher said, “Look at a day when you are supremely satisfied at the end. It’s not a day when you lounge around doing nothing; it’s a day you’ve had everything to do and you’ve done it.”  I had such a day yesterday at Liberty Road Foundation’s 5th Annual Business Vision Lunch where 230 business leaders came to hear former Seahawks QB Jon Kitna speak on “R.E.A.L. Leadership In a Counterfeit World”.    Jon said there are 4 pillars of R.E.A.L leadership: Rejecting Passivity – confronting issues we know are wrong. Empathizing With Others – learn what makes others tick and don’t expect them to be just like you. Accepting Responsibility – especially when we know we did something wrong. Leading Courageously – jump in front when you don’t even know where you’re going; motivate to reach a common cause.  After Jon spoke, LRF Executive Director John Dammarell launched our 2014 Backpack Drive – sponsor a kid to receive a backpack filled with all of their school supplies for $25 a kid!  Attendees sponsored a total of 390 kids at the event!  The goal is to sponsor 1500 kids.  Yes, I was “supremely satisfied” at the end of the day! If you would like to sponsor a kid or find out how your company can help, email LRF at info@libertyroadfoundation.org Karilyn Dammarell, Executive Assistant LIBERTY ROAD FOUNDATION 16625 Redmond Way, Suite M323 Redmond, WA 98052 P: 206.790.1290 F: 425.558.4885 karilyn@libertyroadfoundation.org www.libertyroadfoundation.org...

As You Think

“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”(NKJV) Proverbs 23:7a   Your thoughts can become the biggest obstacle to success in your life.  What are those things that you allow your mind to focus on in the course of time?  It’s often been said that it takes many positive thoughts to counteract one negative thought.  Check out what you read, what you listen to and the people that you surround yourself with.  It’s all about choice.  It’s up to you to use discretion and discernment in the influencers that you choose to allow you to speak into your life.  Your ability to think positively, to see the glass half-full not half-empty and to learn from your experiences and shake off your mistakes will be a huge help in the right direction.  It’s been said, “Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones you will start having positive...

Tic Toc! The Clock Is Running

Posted on May 12, 2014 in WEEKLY WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT | 0 comments

“Don’t waste your time on useless work, mere busywork, the barren pursuits of darkness.   Expose these things for the sham they are.  It’s a scandal when people waste their lives  on things they must do in the darkness where no one will see.  Rip the cover off  those frauds and see how attractive they look in the light of Christ.  Wake up from your sleep, Climb out of your coffins; Christ will show you the light!  So watch your step.  Use your head.   Make the most of every chance you get.  These are desperate times!  Don’t live carelessly, unthinkingly.  Make sure you understand what the Master wants.”  (MSG) Ephesians 5:11-17   The clock is ticking.  Time is short.  Too often we get all caught up in the urgency of the moment.  Instead of being in charge of our schedules, we allow our schedules to rule us.  There are always those things that come up to try and steal your time.  It is like the tyranny of the urgent.   Your prayer might go like this:  “Father, give me the wisdom to discern the difference between what is urgent and what is important.  Help me to be a good steward of the time You give me.  I cast all my cares and concerns on You.  Help me that I will be well balanced, vigilant and cautious at all times.  And, Father, help me to make the most of every opportunity You give me.  Help me not to waste time but to manage the time You give me with more efficiency because I realize every moment is...

His Presence

HIS PRESENCE   “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.”  (NASB) Deuteronomy 31:6   “Nevertheless I am continually with You; You have taken hold of my right hand.   With Your counsel You will guide me, And afterward receive me to glory.”  (NASB) Psalm 73:23–24   “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride.”  (NASB) Psalm 46:1-3   The two greatest enemies to your soul are fear and worry.  These have a way of paralyzing you and robbing your joy.  However, you do have a choice.  You can allow these enemies to continue to control you or you can let His presence envelop you.  These scriptures will saturate your soul and continually assure you that whatever the circumstances might be in your life, your Heavenly Father will never leave you nor forsake...
