In His Time

Posted on Mar 31, 2014 in WEEKLY WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT | 0 comments

“But these things I plan won’t happen right away.  Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!” (TLB)  Habakkuk 2:3 His time is not always our time.  There may be a time in that business you are starting, that book you are writing or that exercise program that you just started, that you just get bogged down.  It doesn’t seem like it’s going anywhere.  It’s like you have crashed into a wall.  Or perhaps you thought it was going one way and it’s another way.  Those are the times you need to put your trust in God the most, being aware that it’s all about His timing.  Philippians 2:13 (NASB) says, “For it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.”  You can trust the Lord, knowing that He is your enabler.  To enable someone is to give means, authority or power to do what you have directed them to accomplish.  He not only supplies you with all that you need according to His sufficient grace, but He affects the changes in, through and with us for His greatest pleasure. DECLARATION:  Lord, help me to not become anxious and impatient and try to jump ahead of You and make something happen but instead help me to rest in my trust of You more and more that You have it under control and You are working it...

Are You Prepared for Change?

“Behold I will do something new, now it will spring forth;  Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.” (NASB)  Isaiah 43:19 There may be times when your business will need to move as the market pulls you in a different direction.  You might need to reinvent your business.  You should not fear.  God is always going to have your back.  Let’s look at another example.  It’s your dream to start an exercise program.  You have been running a certain way for months and it seems that you have just hit a wall.  This happened to me until a friend came along and lined out a whole new running plan, much different from what I was doing.  The results were great.  Are you prepared if God just might want to reinvent your...

Stay On the Course

Posted on Mar 17, 2014 in WEEKLY WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT | 0 comments

“Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them.  Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you.  Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do.  Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it.  Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.  This is my command-be strong and courageous!  Do not be afraid or discouraged.  For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”  (New Living Translation) Joshua 1:6-9 New Here the Father is encouraging Joshua to be of good courage and stand strong against what seems to be insurmountable odds.  He was faced with a land of giants.  His assignments lead the nation of Israel.  Immense pressure, wouldn’t you say?  But Joshua did not cave into the fears and anxiety of the size of his enemy.  Instead, he moved forward in confidence, staying true to the course that God had set him on.  How are you doing with the giants you face?  Be encouraged by His Word, “Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged.”  Stay on the course for the Lord is with you and He will not fail you DECLARATION:  I declare that I am strong and courageous and that I will stay the course for The Lord is with me.  He will not fail...

What Do You Do In the Furnace?

Posted on Mar 10, 2014 in WEEKLY WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT | 0 comments

“But He knows the way I take; When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”  (NASB) Job 23:10 “Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work.” (NASB) I Corinthians 3:12-1 3 The test is:  Do you really believe in Him?  Do you only trust Him in the good times or will you trust Him in the furnace?  Your faith will be tested in the fire. James 1:2-4 (NASB) says, “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials,  knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.   And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” It is really a matter of endurance.  You just don’t quit.  You keep believing.  It doesn’t matter if you see immediate results or not.  Put your trust in His Word.  Don’t give up, be strong.  As the Father said to Joshua,  “This is my command – be strong and courageous!  Do not be afraid or discouraged.  For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”  Joshua 1:9 (NLT) What test are you going through?  Begin now to speak His Word by faith over your situation.  Faith is the power to trust God, having the confidence that God will do what He says.  I like what Frank Damazio, Senior Pastor of City Bible Church in Portland, Oregon says in his book Seven Declarations  For An Unshakable Life – “Faith is the unquestioning confidence, the full persuasion, the unwavering trust that what God has said, He is able to do and perform.” And Joel Osteen says, “Faith activates God – Fear activates the enemy.” DECLARATION:  With faith speak these scriptures daily: “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” (NLT) Philippians 4:13 “You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” (NASB) I John 4:4   “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (NASB) Psalm 46:1 “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you..  Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.” (NASB) John...

The Place of Honor

Posted on Mar 3, 2014 in WEEKLY WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT | 0 comments

” I will bless the Lord who has counseled me; Indeed, my mind instructs me in the night.  I have set the Lord continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” (NASB) Psalm 16:7-8  I have often thought about the significance of the Lord’s right hand.  The place of honor at a table is to the right side of the host.  So when those challenges in your life come, honor the Lord and your life will not be shaken.  One of the greatest ways to assure you that you can remain strong and peaceful in the storm is to be sure that you are honoring him, giving him first place in your life, declaring praise to him and thanking Him for His wonderful deeds. DECLARATION:  Lord, I declare that each day I will look for those opportunities to honor you and then do...
