It has been said, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”  And Benjamin Mayes says, “It is not a calamity to die with dreams unfulfilled but it is a calamity not to dream.”  The world is filled with dream crushers and idea killers.  Why?  Some people without dreams of their own hate to see others pursuing theirs. Perhaps others have dragged you down in your life.  Perhaps you have been discouraged from dreaming.  John Maxwell said, “Take heart – it’s never too late to start dreaming and pursuing your dreams.”  He quotes Dale Turner as saying, “Dreams are renewable.  No matter what our age or condition, there are still untapped possibilities within us and new beauty waiting to be born.” There are 3 things that will help you in believing in your dream. 1.    Faith for your dream:  “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”  Hebrews 11:1 (NASB) 2.    Expectation for your dream:  “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21 (NKJV) 3.    Write and speak your dream:  “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.  For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.  Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”  Habakkuk 2:2-3...

“Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them.  Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do.  Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.  This is my command-be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”  (New Living Translation) Joshua 1:6-9 Here the Father is encouraging Joshua to be of good courage and stand strong against what seems to be insurmountable odds.  He was faced with a land of giants.  His assignments lead the Nation of Israel.  Immense pressure, wouldn’t you say?  But Joshua did not cave into the fears and anxiety of the size of his enemy.  Instead he moved forward in confidence, staying true to the course that God had set him on.  How are you doing with the giants you face?  Be encouraged by His Word, “Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged.”  Stay on the course for the Lord is with you and He will never fail...

“The mind of man plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.” (NAS) Proverbs 16:9 (New American Standard Bible) Perhaps you got up this morning and left your house with a plan but you needed the Lord to direct your steps.  But sometimes we struggle with that, don’t we?  When you say, “Direct my steps,” you are saying, “Lord, I want my plans to fit into your plans.  Lord, I have been trying to be more patient at work, but it isn’t working.  I need your help.  Lord, I have this big business deal and I need your wisdom.  Today, not tomorrow.  I need your help today. Today I want to be in step with you.” Life is filled with choices – His Steps or your steps.  How are you doing in this?  Do you feel like you need to make some changes in this area.  You can decide right now to make a change.  It’s all about Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.  Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”...

“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever.  Amen.”  (NAS) Ephesians 3:20-21 The Message Bible reads, “God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!  He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.”  Do you need a breakthrough in some area of your life?  You are going to need to change the way you think.  Many focus on the impossibility of something instead of its possibility.  It is impossible for God to lie.  It is impossible for Him to deny His own nature.  You will need to develop that favor mentality.  With every door you try, you have the favor of God on your life.  When you first get up in the morning, thank Him for His favor on your life and go out with that expectant attitude, watching for God’s favor upon you.  His goodness and mercy follow you all the days of your life.  No problem is too great.  No sickness He cannot heal.  No bondage He cannot break.  It’s a new day.  Stay in an attitude of faith.  Your breakthrough is...

STEP UP, TAKE ACTION “If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?  Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.” (New Living Translation) I John 3:17-18 Psalm 22:24 tells us that God honors the poor in two ways.  First of all, He does not ignore their need, their suffering.  Verse 24 says, “For He has not ignored the suffering of the needy.  He has not turned and walked away.”  Secondly, He has listened to their cry for help.  He has heard their prayers.  Verse 24 says, “He has listened to their cries for help.”  I believe it is at this point that He answers their prayers through us.  This is really about our responding to His Word in Isaiah 58:7, that we are to divide our bread with the hungry.  We are to step up, take action and meet the needs of those who are in need in our...
